
Construction supervision and contract administration for the rehabilitation of 33.5 km of the T1 highway, including the detailed design of the new Nakambala Bridge in Zambia.
Scope
The project covers construction supervision for the rehabilitation of a 33.5 km segment of the Kafue–Mazabuka Road (T1) in Southern Province (Lot 2) from the Chikankata turnoff to Mazabuka, funded by the African Development Bank. The scope also includes the complete design of the new Nakambala Bridge.
Approach
Engineering Modeling
Designed the new Nakambala Bridge using MIDAS Civil Software to replace the existing sub-standard structure.
Quality Assurance
Conducted day-to-day supervision of construction progress, workmanship, and material quality on-site.
Environmental & Social Safeguards
Monitored the implementation of Resettlement Action Plans (RAP) and Environmental and Social Management Strategies and Implementation Plans (ES-MSIP).
Outcome
Contract Administration
Managed all contract administration tasks, including payment certifications, claims management, design modifications, and detailed record-keeping.
